Camping experiences include camping beside a quiet lake, camping along off-highway vehicle trails and equestrian camping. All provide unique family experiences and opportunities to reconnect with the natural space and solitude of the forest. The forest’s 165,000+ acres and designated outstanding waterways of Florida provide unique camping opportunities.

Primitive camping zones and canoe camps have no fee but require a State Forest Use Permit for groups of six people or more. Please contact the Withlacoochee Visitors Center at (352) 797-4140 regarding permit.
