Camping Reservations
Florida State Forests offer a variety of camping options. Use our online reservation system or call 877-879-3859 to find a campsite near you, see what amenities are provided and book your stay. It’s that easy!
State Forest Fees
Effective July 1, 2020, fees for all passes and camping reservations must be paid by using our online payment system. All other recreation and forest use/product fees must be paid by check or money order through the local State Forest offices. No cash payments are accepted.

State Forest Use Permit
The following types of events require a State Forest Use Permit:
- All formal group activities, such as school, church, family and youth groups, that include picnicking, trail use or overnight camping.
- All commercial use, including guided tours, sales and rentals, and special events.
- Primitive campsites in some State Forests.
Contact the specific State Forest office to request a permit.
State Forest Rules
In keeping with its mission to protect and manage Florida's forest resources for the present and future enjoyment of all Floridians, and to provide the greatest opportunity for a quality recreational experience, the Florida Forest Service has developed rules that apply to all visitors.
As you plan your visit, consider the following rules and guidance:
- Chapter 5I-4, Florida Administrative Code
- Drive on designated roads only.
- The speed limit on all State Forest roads is 30 mph unless posted otherwise.
- Do not obstruct roads, gates or fire lines.
- Possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited where posted.
- Removal or destruction of cultural artifacts, plants or animals is prohibited except for the legal game during scheduled hunts.
- Take all garbage with you when you leave the forest if a container is not available in the area that you visit.
- Leashed pets are welcome in designated areas in most State Forests. Please check with the State Forest before visiting.
- All horses must have proof of current negative Coggins test results when in State Forests.
- All equestrian riders under age 16 must, by law, wear a certified helmet in State Forests. A parent or guardian of a child under 16 years of age may not authorize or knowingly permit a child to ride without a helmet. The responsibility lies with any trainer, instructor or supervisor who rents or leases an equine to be ridden by a child younger than 16 or rents or leases equine supplies.
- Hunting and fishing in State Forests are regulated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, according to published seasons, license requirements, etc. Hunting requires a license and permit and is allowed only during established seasons.
- Swim in designated areas at your own risk.
- No rope swings or diving from stream banks or trees.
- Glass containers are not allowed on any State Forest waterways.
