As one of the few remaining places in South Florida north of Everglades National Park or Big Cypress National Preserve where the pre-Columbian landscape can still be observed, Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest is the perfect place to bike through time and connect with ancestral Floridians through the natural beauty of this State Forest. Maybe you’ll be lucky and see the endangered and threatened species that call this forest home, like the crested caracara bird.
