The Office of Energy is the legislatively designated state energy policy and program development office within Florida. 

The Office of Energy is the legislatively designated state energy policy and program development office for Florida. The Office of Energy evaluates energy-related studies, analyses, and stakeholder input, providing energy policy and program recommendations to the Governor and Legislature, focused on moving Florida toward a more diverse, stable and reliable energy portfolio. Using available state and federal funds, the Office of Energy develops and manages energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy education programs throughout the state.

Florida Energy Saver Program

The state of Florida is slated to receive approximately $346 million to assist Floridians in reducing energy costs by improving their homes' energy efficiency through qualified energy efficiency upgrades, retrofits, and high-efficiency appliances.

The Florida Energy Saver Program consists of two separate and distinct energy efficiency-related programs identified below; however, the Office of Energy will administer them jointly to maximize the impact and opportunity for the benefit of Floridians.

• Florida’s Whole Home Rebates (HOMES) (Section 50121): The HOMES Program provides single-family and multifamily households with discounts for efficiency upgrades that are predicted to save at least 20% of the home’s energy use.
• Florida’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) (Section 50122): The HEAR Program is exclusively for low- and moderate-income households (less than 150% Area Median Income) to purchase high-efficiency equipment.

Energy Education Kits

K-12 schools and school-age childcare facilities, as referenced in 65C-22.008(1), Florida Administrative Code, can apply for energy education kits designed to help students develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities, investigate environmental issues, and gain hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills.
