Emergency Support Function (ESF) 11 is responsible for providing food, water, baby goods, adult supplemental goods, and ice during disasters.
We ensure adequate food availability and delivery. We also support disaster food needs (i.e., mass feeding and household feeding) and support the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) during a declared state of emergency or other declaration (i.e., a presidentially declared disaster).
We are able to do this by utilizing U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foods from the schools operating our National School Lunch Program and with the assistance of our feeding partners — The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Farm Share, Feeding Florida, The Florida Baptists, and Midwest Food Bank.
Feeding organizations can come to this page to apply for USDA Foods for disaster feeding, and our schools can find the necessary forms for reimbursement for USDA Foods utilized in a disaster.
