Find information about wood-using mills, non-timber forest products and more.
Florida has 16.8 million acres of forest land and 14.7 million acres of timberland available for commercial timber harvesting. The state harvests 15 million green tons of softwood and hardwood timber annually, which is delivered to approximately 60 primary wood-using mills. These mills produce pulp and paper, wood pellets, lumber, plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), poles, pilings, posts and biofuel. In turn, some of the primary products serve as input for many more employer establishments in the state operating secondary wood, paper, chemicals, allied equipment manufacturing, wholesale trade, and biomass electricity generation.
