Beginning July 1, 2026, Andrews Nursery will be accepting seedling orders for the upcoming tree planting season. There are two ways to order seedlings: online or by mail using our paper order form. Paper form orders are subject to additional delays due to mail service/processing. It is recommended that you order online.
If you're using the paper order form, please submit your order form [ Adobe PDF Document ] along with a check or money order payable to: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
Note: Full payment must accompany your seedling order. Orders submitted without full payment will be returned.
Whether you order online or by using the paper form, your order will be assigned a specific number. This number will be placed on a copy of your order and returned to you. Always refer to this number when discussing your order with the nursery.
Where and when you receive your seedlings is entirely your choice. You may choose to pick them up at Andrews Nursery in Chiefland (Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.), or, for a small delivery fee, have them delivered to any of the Florida Forest Service delivery locations.
First, select “where” you wish to receive your seedlings and indicate that on your order. The “when” is often more difficult to choose, especially with orders placed during the summer, well in advance of planting. The Andrews Nursery staff recommends you pick the very last date available to receive your seedlings, then notify Andrews Nursery when you are ready for us to update your order date.
If, however, you are certain of when you wish to receive your seedlings, please enter a specific date on your order. Please consult the delivery schedule for the specific dates that seedlings will be delivered to each delivery point.
When scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling the pickup or delivery of seedlings, please call the nursery at least five working days prior to the date scheduled. This lead time will assist the nursery in providing you with the freshest possible seedlings on your specified date. If the nursery is unable to fill your order on the date specified, we will contact you and arrange another date.
Successful tree planting is dependent on three important factors:
While neither the Florida Forest Service nor the customer can control the rainfall, both must do their part to ensure successful reforestation. The Florida Forest Service makes every effort to provide fresh seedlings that are packaged in a quality-conscious manner.
Likewise, customers are encouraged to make every effort to ensure that their seedlings are planted in a quality-conscious manner as soon as possible after delivery. The Florida Forest Service recognizes that seedling planting is a difficult task and will gladly assist customers whenever possible to ensure a successful planting job.
The Florida Forest Service will provide refunds according to the following schedule:
Requests for refunds must be made in writing to Andrews Nursery. If the Florida Forest Service is unable to supply the seedlings you ordered, you will receive a full refund (including delivery fee) for all, or that unfilled portion of your order.
If, after paying for delivery, you elect to pick up your seedlings at the nursery, we will refund your delivery fee provided you notify the nursery of your change at least five working days prior to the scheduled delivery.
The Florida Forest Service is designated and authorized to operate a seedling tree nursery program and set reasonable prices for the sale of these seedlings to the public (Section 589.11, Florida Statutes).
