Learn about the educational opportunities offered through the Forest Stewardship Program.

description

Would you like to:

If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, then the Florida Forest Service has several annual, educational opportunities to offer you through the Forest Stewardship Program.

The Florida Forest Service offers several management workshops and property tours each year, with assistance from the USDA Forest Service, the University of Florida, IFAS extension, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The workshops are usually scheduled toward the end of the week, during the late afternoon and early evening, and cover a wide variety of natural resource management topics from estate planning to integrating forest management and wildlife practices.

Our Forest Stewardship tours offer participants a first-hand look at good natural resource management practices on Stewardship properties located throughout Florida. Tour participants will be able to see and learn how the methods and practices landowners are using are helping them to reach their management goals.

Approximately three to four tours and two to three workshops are held annually, and are open to everyone, but reservations are required. Workshop and tour announcements and contact information can be found on the Florida Forest Service’s events calendar as well as the University of Florida’s Forest Stewardship Bulletin Board.
