Proper land management begins with a plan — your plan. It should reflect your goals for your forest land and how to achieve them. Whatever your goals are, county foresters can provide you with advice and recommendations to ensure that your forest will be healthy and prosper. County foresters know which management tools and programs are the best fit for your land, your goals, your needs — your plan. They can advise on a variety of management options, including prescribed burns, timber harvesting, and water quality management,  as well as recommend available informational and cost-sharing programs. Whether you are looking to create a new management plan or enhance your working plan for your forest land, this is the place to begin.

We wanted our family farm to be productive. It's a legacy for our children and fulfills the dream of our parents and grandparents. We wanted to plant a profitable crop of pines, preserve the land and have a place of beauty. Wild animals also have a home here. Tim Wilkinson, the Hamilton County Forester, gave us the assistance and advice to complete this project. We also appreciate the financial aid received from the FIP Program.
