• Provides nutritious meals at no cost to children 18 and under while school is out for the summer;
• Operates at schools, nonprofit organizations and government entities, such as parks and libraries; and
• Reimburses participating organizations for meals through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA's) Summer Food Service Program or Seamless Summer Option.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services:

• Provides guidance, support and training for program sponsors;
• Distributes funds from USDA to reimburse sponsors for meals served;
• Promotes site locations and meal times through and
• Identifies areas of need to help sponsors determine site locations.

Organizations can:

• Become a Summer BreakSpot sponsor and serve nutritious meals to children;
• Offer your facilities as a site location for other organizations to provide the meals;
• Publicize the program to families with newsletters, mailings and through digital communications; and
• Visit FDACS.gov/RoadmaptoHealth to see where service and resource gaps exist in your community.
