School food service professionals face growing pressures to operate school food service programs with increased efficiency and conduct the school food service program not only as nonprofit units but as self-supporting units as well. It no longer is sufficient to provide a historical record of financial performance and meet budget goals. Professionals must justify their performance against best practices. The mission of the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness is to provide effective Child Nutrition Programs to Florida students through financial resources.
