The Office of Inspector General is responsible for activities that promote accountability, integrity and efficiency within FDACS.

description

In accordance with Section 20.055, Florida Statutes, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) serves “as a central point for coordination of, and responsibility for, activities that promote accountability, integrity and efficiency” within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). This is accomplished through internal investigations, audits, and reviews of department activities and programs.

The OIG ensures that all complaints of a serious nature made against FDACS and its employees are thoroughly, completely and impartially investigated. We conduct investigations in response to complaints or allegations from citizens and employees concerning criminal or administrative wrongdoing.

Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations. The OIG uses internal auditing to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes to help FDACS accomplish its objectives.

Our vision is to provide the highest quality work products and services that facilitate positive change.

Our mission is to promote the effective, efficient and economical operation of FDACS programs.

The OIG makes a positive difference through our commitment to integrity, accountability and efficiency.
