Find information and resources for veterinarians seeking to become accredited in the state of Florida.

description

Licensed veterinarians can choose to take additional training to become accredited through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA's) National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP). NVAP-accredited vets may perform testing for government disease programs and are authorized to prepare Official Certificates of Veterinary Inspection, or "health certificates," so that animals can move across state or national borders.

To become accredited in Florida, it is recommended that veterinarians review the Florida Accreditation Presentation linked below and pass the exam with a score of 80% or higher. The federal accreditation requirements are mandatory to become accredited.

Florida Accreditation Presentation and Exam

Watch and study the Accreditation Presentation:

Take the Exam

You will have one hour to complete the state accreditation exam.

If you score less than 80%, you should go back and review the presentation.

The access code for the exam is OCVI2026.

After the Exam

After you complete the exam, you will receive your results automatically from the test site.

To become accredited, you must complete the USDA approval process. Information is linked below.
