Step 1

New fair associations must submit their proposed charter for review and approval by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Subsequent amendments also require approval.

Step 2

  3. Permit Fee: Based on event attendance.
  4. Premium List: Submit the exhibitor award list 60 days before the event.
  5. Liability Insurance Proof: Minimum $1 million for midway company; $300,000 for the fair association.
  6. Charter and Bylaws: Include the most recent versions with amendments.
  7. Financial Documents:
    1. Fairs with under 25,000 attendees: Financial reviews certified by a county official.
    2. Fairs with over 25,000 attendees: Annual review by a licensed accountant.
  8. Board Member List: Names, addresses and contact details of current board members.
  9. Notification Letters: Copies of letters sent to fair associations within a 50-mile radius.

Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations under Chapter 616, Florida Statutes, and Rule 5H-23, Florida Administrative Code.
