Inspections and compliance agreements are available to help ensure tropical soda apple isn't spread via the movement of regulated articles.
Tropical soda apple, Solanum viarum Dunal (TSA), is listed as a noxious weed in Rule 5B-57.007, Florida Administrative Code. Therefore, it is unlawful to move or release TSA except under permit issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).
Parties that move articles/materials that may be contaminated with TSA should contact FDACS for specific requirements. Inspections and/or compliance agreements are available to help make sure TSA is not distributed via artificial/man-assisted movement of sod, hay, nursery stock or other regulated articles.
