Test for avian species. Submit at least six feather‑follicle pulps (actively growing feathers containing pulp) in a leak‑proof container, or 1 mL of whole blood in an EDTA tube from a live bird. For deceased birds, submit tumor tissue; feather‑follicle pulp; nervous tissue; or kidney, liver or spleen tissue.
