The council provides recommendations to FDACS about the LP Gas industry.
The purpose of the Florida Propane Gas Education, Safety, and Research Council is to study problems arising in the LP Gas industry and to provide the Commissioner of Agriculture with recommendations. In addition, the council exists in order to advance the safety, efficiency, desirability, usage and marketability of propane gas and equipment while also educating industry members and consumers about relevant issues. Finally, the council provides guidance related to the assessment collected via the LP Gas Marketing Order (Section 527.23, Florida Statutes), as well as the projects funded thereunder.
The council operates under the authority of Section 527.22, Florida Statutes.
