The Honey Bee Technical Advisory Council advises and assists the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on beekeeping issues.

The Honeybee Technical Advisory Council advises the department on matters concerning the apiary industry.

The council operates under the authority of Section 586.161, Florida Statutes (F.S.)

Membership Requirements

The membership includes:

• Five (5) representatives from the honeybee industry.
• One (1) representative from the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS).
• One (1) representative from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), who also serves as the secretary of the council.
