The council provides recommendations to the Commissioner of Agriculture and the legislature about public health pest control in Florida.
This council develops and recommends to the department a request for proposal process for arthropod control research. It identifies potential funding sources for research or implementation projects, evaluates and prioritizes proposals upon request by the funding source, and prepares and presents reports, as needed, on arthropod control activities in the state to other governmental organizations, as appropriate.
The council operates under the authority of Section 388.46, Florida Statutes.
