The council advises FDACS on feed, seed and fertilizer enforcement issues.
The Agricultural Feed, Seed and Fertilizer Council serves as a statewide forum for the coordination of feed, seed and fertilizer-related activities and receives reports of relevant enforcement activity conducted by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), including the number of inspections, the number of administrative actions, the number of complaints received and investigated, and the dispositions of complaints. The council provides advice to FDACS on the conduct of relevant enforcement activities and makes recommendations to the Commissioner of Agriculture for actions to be taken with respect to the regulation of agricultural feed, seed and fertilizer.
The council operates under the authority of Section 570.451, Florida Statutes.
